These miniature gardens, sparked by your own imagination, give you a chance to enjoy gardening on a small scale. Create your own whimsically fashioned miniature garden complete with meandering paths, mushrooms, tiny accents and miniature plants. Bunny Hut Miniature Garden Saturday, March 23 1:00 $55.00 Perfect for gardeners anxiously awaiting Spring. Create your own miniature garden surrounding an adorable hut suitable for any imaginary creatures to visit, especially the bunnies! Accessorize with a twig fence, arbor or make your own sign like “Carrots for Sale!”
Countryside Miniature Garden Saturday, April 13 10:30 $65.00 This traditional miniature garden is created in a rectangular wooden box complete with a Country Cottage. Each Cottage is landscaped with a little rosemary topiary, selected tiny perennials and mini flowering annuals.
Itsy Bitsy Mini Garden Saturday, April 27 10:30 $38.00
This workshop is a mini miniature garden surrounding an itsy bitsy house. Pathways of tiny pebbles flanked with mini herbs make for an imaginative garden. With a little help, children of all ages can participate in this workshop.
Hanging Garden Globe Saturday, May 4 1:00 $25.00
This miniature garden can hang from a tree or a sunny window indoors. Your 5” glass globe begins with a layer of pebbles and soil; then tiny sedums and mosses are planted. Your “sky high” garden is complete with a tiny house.

Bring enchantment and delight into your outdoor space with this colorful garden. We will make imaginative accessories that compliment the Gourd Cottage used for this mini garden, created in a circular pot.

After three decades of collecting antiques, it’s time to offer some for sale! We’ve moved small collectibles, chests, cupboards and even old gardening books to the cottage gift shop. Great prices!

Hippty-Hop over to Surreybrooke for this free event. Surreybrooke’s Annual Easter Egg and Scavenger Hunt has become a family tradition. Children follow the clues to find hidden treasures and jelly bean filled eggs in the Children’s Garden. Kids, please bring a parent with you and a basket to collect eggs! This workshop is great for adults and children. These living baskets and planted wire containers make long-lasting gifts for anyone. You can select from an assortment of baskets and containers. Prices will vary depending on the size of the basket or container you select; beginning at $14.00 for smaller baskets and containers. You can make as many as you like. We will provide everything you need to create a lovely spring container of herbs, pansies and proven winner annuals. Please bring gloves and scissors with you. Green Roof Birdhouse Workshop Saturday, April 6 11:00 $45.00 Make a cedar birdhouse (with lots of help) then plant the rooftop with herbs, succulents and sedums. Choose between two styles. Our Bluebird style can be mounted to a fence. Our Traditional style can be placed on a stump in the garden or hung. Sure to be a great conversation piece for your gardening visitors. Surreybrooke Garden Tour Saturday, June 1 10:00 $6.00 Come for a guided tour by Surreybrooke’s owner, Nancy Walz. Walk around the 17 display gardens while learning about the different plants and the inspiration that led to the creation of Surreybrooke. Learn how the landscape transformed into the beautiful English style gardens. The history of the house and surrounding outbuildings will be part of the tour. Ask questions along the way! Family and friends are invited to bring a picnic and celebrate the opening of our new pavilion ‘The Lark’ in the gardens at Surreybrooke. Dr. Banjo and the Tuckahoe Travelers will recreate the spirit of the American songs played and sung from the 1850’s to the 1860’s. This highly entertaining concert will feature two 45-minute sets of music and educational presentation. Historical content will be intermingled with period poetry, skits and instrumental music reminiscent of the Civil War and Victorian Era. Take time during the break to tour the gardens. Fairy House Workshop Saturday, June 15 10:00 $18.00
This workshop is popular with children as well as adults. You will create your own unique, mystical house using natural materials that we have collected from the farm. Music in the Garden Twilight Walk Saturday, June 22 6:00-9:00pm Tickets Required
$9.00 in advance Enjoy music and the landscape as an evening of beauty and talent unfold in the gardens at Surreybrooke. Various musicians perform classical and folk music as visitors walk on candlelit pathways. Hammered dulcimer, harp and classical guitar can be heard while enjoying the fragrant evening gardens. Try your hand at dancing with the Scottish Dancers. This is a sold-out event so we encourage you to purchase tickets prior to the event. Ask about reserving a table under the Lark Pavilion.
